This summer’s beach party was a big hit once again.   With Saturday rained out, the weather cooperated on Sunday and we had a spectacular day with plenty of sunshine and loads of community spirit.   We had plenty of yummy food, games for all ages, the very popular sand castle contest,  face painting, and live music thoughout the day.  This year we added a magician who not only entertained the audience with this skills but with his humor too.

The food was as tasty as ever, with hot dogs, pulled pork (Herb’s Market), fried chicken (IGA, Amagansett),  corn on the cob (Montauk IGA), and watermelon and cookies for desert. Thanks to the face painting team for their oh so creative work; to Julia Prince and Carter Tyler for organizing the games; to Sharon Sennefelder for arranging for all the prizes and selling the raffle tickets; to Carole Shurman for taking such fabulous photos; to the Gentner Family for all the runs to pick up the food and drinks;  to Bob Mulligan, our Board President, Lili Elsis, and Ed Gentner for manning the check-in, selling logo merchandise and prize tickets; and last but not least to Bob Shurman for leading the overall organization of the event.  Thanks to our crazy hot dog cookers, Ric Kallaher and Bob Restivo; on corn duty were Brian Harris and Gerry Boyle & family; and to Iris Mitchell and the entire the food crew who all chipped in to help. We hope we haven’t left anyone out. It takes a lot of hard work to set up and transport all the stuff down to the beach, and then take down and clean-up, so thanks to all who helped out.  That’s community at work folks!
